Welcome to the Smart Whiteboard Paint FAQs for Smarter Surfaces. Below we have outlined the answers to the most commonly asked questions.
How To Apply Whiteboard Paint
To ensure a perfect whiteboard finish, please :
- Undercoat with a primer (this will smoothen the area and ensure that Smart Whiteboard Paint stays on the surface rather than being absorbed into it).
- Be sure to use a different roller for both the primer and the Smart Whiteboard Paint. If you choose to use the same roller, the water involved in washing the roller will have damaging effects on the whiteboard paint.
- Only paint the specified coverage area as clearly labelled on the tin. Stretching the paint will affect the whiteboard performance.
- Note this is a one coat specialist coating. To ensure optimum results we recommend rolling over the surface ten times during the coat.
Once applied correctly, the award-winning Smart Whiteboard Paint comes with a ten-year performance guarantee.

Smart Whiteboard Paint can be applied to almost any smooth surface (glass, metal, concrete, wood, etc.). If you are using Smart Whiteboard Paint – Clear over an existing coloured surface, we recommend you use our Smart Clear Primer for best performance. If you are using Smart Whiteboard Paint – White, it is essential to prime the surface first with Smart White Primer or any good quality water based white primer.
Smart Whiteboard Paint Clear can be applied over any colour, except for white as it may tinge the wall. For best results use Smart Whiteboard Paint White over a white surface.
